WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Red Roof Cabin this past weekend. We have be traveling to Knoxville the past 4+ years to compete in the Pilot Winter Classic Swim meet at U.T. Coming back to the cabin after each session was like coming home. The other family we shared space with felt the same way. The extra decorating touches you have provided have made it comfortable and inviting. We all discussed how it was like a mini vacation. We certainly want to do this again next year. How far in advance can we reserve? The Pilot meet has always been on the MLK holiday weekend. Thank you for allowing us to share in your blessings!
How kind of you to extend the discount. It is tough to put into words how impressed we were with the lovely cabin, it was the catalyst for the makings of a fabulous family reunion. It makes my teeth itch thinking of the one poor review on VRBO. It was readily evident much thought and care goes into the décor, comfort, and upkeep of this property. Did we see a bug? Yes, DUH it is cabin in the woods.
Excellent cabin, great location. This is the perfect cabin for your trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Cabin was exactly as described. Pet friendly. Hope to be back this summer.
This cabin is just beautiful. Location is great. Close to everything but yet secluded and peaceful. Love the wrap around porch. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need.Really enjoyed our stay. We would recommend this place to anyone.
I can not say enough good things about this lovely log cabin. Beautiful decorated, comfortable and cozy. We had a great time and we even brought our toy poodle along, she always comes with us on every vacation. The cabin is located close to everything and yet secluded and peaceful. I will rent it again without a second thought,in fact I cannot wait to be back. There is a Hydrofarm right next door to the cabin where you can pick fresh strawberries and different kinds of veggies. I will recommend it to all my family and friends.
Thanks for the amazing cabin, they are one of kind. I will definitely be staying here when I come back to Knoxville. – A. Backfisch
Our family enjoyed the accommodations. Plenty of space for the four of us. Very clean. Close to the action of the area, but far enough away for peace and quiet.
My mother and I loved your cabin. Everything was so nice and location was great. Can’t wait to plan our next girls trip to your wonderful cabin.
We loved your cabin! The kids want to come back next year. We will tell our friends and family about your wonderful place. All the best-Matt, Leisa, Atalaya, Phoenix-Ann Arbor, MI
Just wanted to share this picture with you from the big snow yesterday and say Thank You! Your cabin is wonderful and we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay. -Michele and Gary Sult
The Bunkhouse was fantastic! My family gathered here for Christmas on short notice and found the place to be absolutely perfect. There are lots of large well appointed common spaces, with TV’s and entertainment in every room. Tina and Ken even left us a Christmas tree downstairs where we were able to sit and open presents with family. We had 6 adults and three children who slept in the house, but another 4 adults and 2 children came over to have dinner and celebrate and the bunkhouse was perfectly suited for all of us! The property the house sits on is just beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice. We really made some amazing Christmas memories this year and much of that is a credit to this space!
The Green Roof cabin is perfect. The smell of fresh cut wood greets you on arrival. It looks like a modern log cabin, but it is fully outfitted, fully finished luxurious 2 bedroom home with everything about the stay easy, comfortable, and clean. The outdoor hot tub is a nice bonus feature. 10 minutes to the airport and downtown Knoxville, and 75 minutes to Smokey Mountain National Park. This place is a real pleasure and a real value.
I can’t say enough good about this cabin and interaction with the owner, Tina. We stayed here six nights with a newborn we were adopting. It is such a nice cabin, well decorated and appointed and located only 8 miles from UT & Knoxville. Our situation was uncertain day-to-day as to how long we would need to stay and Tina was very kind and understanding to our needs. The cabin is located next to an organic farm where we picked blackberries and bought vegetables and baked goods from their store. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone needing a place to stay near Knoxville. The value is incredible compared to what you’d get with a hotel.
We always travel with the dog, he is part of the family, and this place was great! It was close to town and close to all the great drives for a weekend on our motorcycle. We trailered our motorcycle and parking in and out of the driveway was easy. The cabin was easy to find and was in the perfect spot for good riding country. Very nice place. I would definitely recommend.
This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. What I like most is no pool table. Not everyone wants a pool table. There is a big yard for our dog. She liked roaming around in the yard. The picture does not show stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and a flat screen television in the living room. There were plenty of towels which most cabins do not provide. There was a washer and dryer which made it convenient so I could catch up on our laundry because we had to leave to go to a funeral. Tina is the best to work with. We plan on staying here next year.
Our family of four plus doggie stayed in Smoky Mountain Dream for one week in mid June 2015. It was perfect and just a described- no surprises. The cabin was very clean and all appliances and electronics worked well. The wrap around deck has a good view of the mountains- especially in the morning when the smoke is on them. The roads were very passable- all paved and the inclines weren’t too bad. The driveway is steep but there is plenty of room to turn around at the top of the driveway. The cabin is situated close to all the attractions (most within 30 minutes or less). It’s overall private- other cabins on the street BUT you cannot see or hear them thanks to the great timber surrounding the cabin. The bed was SUPER comfortable, showers had great water pressure and the cabin was fully loaded with every conceivable item needed! If we make it back to the smoky mountains we would 100% stay here again.
My friends and I went to Knoxville to visit the TN Gentle Barn (check it out !)for spring break. We wanted to stay somewhere that felt like we were in TN, and this cabin was perfect! It was exceptionally clean and the decor was so log cabin cute! The amenities included a big wrap around porch overlooking a park like setting, plenty of rocking chairs, hot tub, and grill made us stay in even though we had planned on eating dinners out downtown. Where could we get that view and ambiance at a restaurant?! We saved that for lunch and sipped wine and listened to nature from the porch in the evenings. With provided firewood, we built fires to take the edge off of the cool March evenings and felt so lucky to find this sweet cabin. My daughter and I slept very well in the full size bunkbeds downstairs…nice and dark and quiet. Our friends slept upstairs; there was plenty of room to spread out and still have our own space too. The manager stopped by to make sure all was well. The cabins are tucked away off the road and we were pleasantly surprised with how seemingly far away, yet really close to everything we were. We will be back! Thank you Ken and Tina, for a memorable experience in TN!
We were so happy to have found a cabin so close to the University of Tennessee to watch our daughter play softball. The cabin was clean, accommodating, and set in a peaceful area in the woods. We really enjoyed the hot tub, being able to cook meals instead of eating out all of the time, and the kids really enjoyed the pool table. Firewood was supplied for us to use in the fireplace and that made our chilly night very cozy! Great location and rental transaction was easy and flawless! Would definitely stay here again if in the area!
We were expecting a nice cabin but upon arrival we found ourselves in an amazing fairy tale like setting! Once you roll through the beautiful gated entrance everything will amaze you! Rabbits-squirrels-red cardinals galore! Absolutely beautiful with a 3 story high end equipped cabin with nothing spared! You won’t be sorry!
Great place, very clean and we would definitely visit again the next time we visit Knoxville!!
We absolutely loved this cabin. We had 5 adults and one child with us for the stay, and the 2 bedrooms and the hide a bed were perfect for our needs. Very beautifully decorated, well maintained, and Judy any all astound in general nice quiet cabin to relax in, felt like home. We would recommend to anyone and will probably visit again…. thank you from all of us!
Great location and super clean. Hosts are very nice. Exactly what you want for a weekend getaway!!
Great location in a rural area about 15 minutes out of Knoxville. Was perfect for a group (7 kids, 5 adults) in town for an event at the University of TN. Big kitchen and deck, and common areas for the kids. We also rented the Horse Farm location, which was just down the road and a welcome respite at the end of the day for two adults. Gated driveways ensured privacy and were a novelty for the kids.
Loved the location! Quiet, peaceful, and private but a short drive from everything you need and downtown Knoxville! Very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend for anyone!
Our family really enjoyed the Bunkhouse! If you’re looking for a place where you’re whole family can relax and enjoy each other’s company this is the place. There is plenty of fun things to do or you can just sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Big country kitchen was a gathering spot and everyone took a turn on the pool table. We also spotted deer and lots of Canada geese off the deck. We had a wonderful time!
This is an amazing place to entertain your family! We’d planned tons of things to do during our stay, but we were content in the house! Great place for children and families. We made lifetime memories here and are grateful for the opportunity to share the space!
Cozy cabin. 5-10 mins from Pigeon Forge strip. Clean, nice hot tub, all you need at a reasonable price. Booked 2 hours before arriving and they were quick to get us situated. Thanks Again
The Bunk House was an awesome place for my family to hang out for a long weekend. The bedrooms upstairs were lovely! The house is perfect for large groups and has a spectacular view. Our group would sit on the back porch every night as the sun would go down – a beautiful Tennessee view for sure! We would definitely return to this house should the opportunity present itself in the future.
Great location to downtown but still some what secluded. Hot tub was great. Very cute cabin!
Spacious and clean! Two living areas, pool table, hot tub, the four bedrooms downstairs are twin loft beds, three full bathrooms. Big kitchen with enough seating at the table. No problems/concerns! It made for a great visit with family from Texas and Wisconsin going to see Vol football!
This is a MUST stay when you are in Knoxville. If offers a beautiful scenic setting. The home is clean, beautifully decorated with plenty of space for family gatherings. It was so peaceful- we cannot wait to return.
Ken and Tina’s place was perfect for a quiet weekend close to Pigeon Forge.
Beautiful spot, centrally located (minutes from Knoxville, 45 min from many day hikes in Mountains, minutes from fishing, big driveway if you are bringing a boat). Plenty of space to relax, cook, etc. I loved sipping coffee on porch every morning and soaking in hot tub after day of hiking. Planning on renting this spot again.
I am sure our party will be coming back time and time again. Owners are very nice and easy communication. Gated entrance and lock boxes allows for easy access on late arrival check in. Very clean and well decorated.
Loads of room, beautifully decorated and a view to die for! What’s not to love? Great property for a large group. As we were packing up to leave, we stopped to watch 4 deer in the back yard. Great end to a great weekend!
It was approximately 10 minutes from downtown where I needed to be. It is set in the country with visible neighbors. The land was beautiful. They had wood for the fireplace but you would need an axe to further cut the wood pieces to start a real fire as it does not have a gas starter. They have a lot of accessories for the kitchen including conventional coffee maker and a keurig! A slow cooker and plenty of snacks already equipped like a hotel except without the $5 charge! The cookware was non stick calphalon. So if you are in love with stainless steel or cast iron bring your own. The hot tub was amazing on a cold winter day or night! At night, set your house temperature down if you are staying in the upstairs bedroom as the temperature really rises and it gets hot.The cabin was perfect and would not hesitate to stay there again. It was great when you need to compromise with total seclusion and minutes from downtown as total seclusion would probably be 30 minutes away from downtown. The communication was quick whenever I had a question regarding the place. They are also are pet friendly which was another major for me.
Cabin was close to everything we wanted to see. We will be using this company again in the future.
Cabin was gorgeous! Lots of space and very clean. The pond to fish is right outside the front door. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We traveled 25 minutes to drive through the mountains.
The property was outstanding. It was more spacious than what we seen in the photos. The rooms were large and the beds were really comfortable, well at least mine was, no complaints from anyone else. We enjoyed the hot tub and a few in the sauna. The cabin is very well decorated and the need for anything is minimal. We gathered at the bar during our short trip and it was a great area to relax. A few slight negatives were that there were no blinds. Yes this is a private area but it was a need, especially in the bathroom(s). Also, the water pressure wasn’t great. In the common areas there were curtain rods, so they might just be gone for a bit. This is definitely not enough to keep us away, we want to visit again! Communication was wonderful, very nice, accommodating and friendly. We had two couples, and two other friends and we had plenty of room! Thanks and hope to stay again soon!
Lovely cabin close to the university. Much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Definitely recommend!
We were there for a UT football game. Very clean and easy to get to and from the game. Great family time.
Just a quick trip this time. Cabin was spotless upon arrival. We enjoyed the farm setting and the privacy gate for sure. Everything worked properly and was very clean and comfy. Would have liked curtains for the doors but that’s just a personal preference. Overall was a very nice cabin and the owners were very pleasant to deal with!
This is the ideal place if you enjoy privacy from the standard jammed together cabins or the overly priced tight spaced motels. I highly recommend if you want the quiet get away if your in this area.
I wish I could post the photos I captured of the incredibly serene and peaceful property and the wonderfully decorated interior! The Horse Farm and Tina & Ken far exceeded any expectations we had of an out of town stay. The home is beautiful and has all of the needed amenities you could ask for. We spent 6 days on the property and because we live a very healthy lifestyle – we hit the grocery store in town before heading out to The Horse Farm. We were able to easily cook 3 meals a day all week long as there were plenty of dishes and kitchen accessories for us to do so. In addition, we were able to travel with our 10lb pup (prior approval needed) and he stayed on his leash. We were able to get in several really great workouts on the property as the gravel hills from the entrance up to the top of the property are intense and there is a flat area by the barn with benches that double as step up and dip assists. 🙂 I cannot say enough great things about this place. The owners are super responsive and it is very very clear that they take great pride in their properties. Also – the place is SPOTLESS. We visit Knox every other year and will try another K & T Cabins property next time. LOVED IT!
Conveniently located just a few miles off of I40 just East of Knoxville, this is a wonderful get-away-from-it all property. It’s quiet and peaceful and in a country setting, yet close to restaurants. We thorough enjoyed our stay here.
Tina and Ken are awesome hosts! This property had all the amenities one would need (they even left makeup remover wipes for me in case I forgot my own). The cabin is close enough to the main road where it’s a quick trip to all the “fun” stuff Pigeon Forge has to offer. However, for someone like me who just wanted a quick getaway, it felt perfectly secluded. Also, if one needs anything, he/she could get to a grocery or convenient store fairly quickly. I had a relaxing time hanging out at the cabin and enjoying some peace and quiet. It was clean and very well decorated. I felt so much at home, that I would love to come back in the near future. One suggestion would be to have written directions on how to properly choose the right log for a fire. I just couldn’t get that right! 🙂
Very nice cabin and located close to town so you can get around easily. We would love to plan another trip back soon.
Beautiful country setting. But still short distance to UT Knoxville. Has something for everyone.
