There’s magic in the hills of Tennessee that you can only experience during the fall. Take a drive or hit the trails to see a beautiful fall color display you can’t get anywhere else.

 

Oktoberfest at Ober Sept 23-Oct30

Kick off the Smokey Mountain Harvest Festival with Oktoberfest at Ober. You will be surrounded by Bavarian-style music, food, and the best brews around.

Zip Lining through the Smokey Mountains

We know this is the third mention of fall in the Smokey Mountains, but we thought zip lining deserved its own shout out. Driving, biking, hiking, and horseback riding is cool and all, but zip lining through the mountains is a whole new level. Just think of the social media possibilities. Knoxville is also home to some very active spirits and you get to investigate and discover them all on the Haunted Knoxville Ghost Tour. You’re provided with paranormal tools of the trade so no ghosts can escape you. Anyone else hear the Ghost Busters theme song playing right now?

A corn maze should be everyone’s family tradition. Oaks Farm has the best maze around with tons of other activities to check out while you’re there.

We discovered this little nugget of awesomeness while finding a haunted house for this list. Now there are some great haunted houses in and around Knoxville, but none of them give you the chance to SHOOT ZOMBIES WITH PAINTBALLS! Talk about a great time.
