International Biscuit Festival – May
Oh Yes – we do have a biscuit festival that showcases the best of biscuits from all around the world. We take biscuits seriously and have dedicated the entire month of May to this southern delicacy. We highly recommend attending the Biscuit Boulevard on Saturday May 20. All of downtown smells of the delicious buttery, hot pastry and we’re definitely not mad at it. Open Streets Knoxville – May & October
What is the Open Streets Movement you ask? Great question because we love to tell everyone all about it! The Open Streets movement is a bi-yearly event in Knoxville where the urban roadways shut down and open up to family-friendly events and attractions. Knoxville can’t really be experienced in a car. Market Square Farmers’ Market (May-November)
Every good Southern Momma will tell you fresh, locally-sourced produce is best when it comes to cooking ingredients, but where can you find such things? The Market Square Farmers’ Market, my friend. We love hitting up the farmers’ market not just for fresh produce, but also the atmosphere, crafts, and a lovely stroll down Market Square. Every Wednesday and Saturday, head on over to Market Square and chat with locals while checking out the best locally-sourced produce and beautiful craft goods. Pigeon Forge
Spring Rod Run
Pigeon Forge has a few spring events, but nothing is amazing as the Spring Rod Run. That is a big claim to make, but last year we were treated to a boat-car (actual boat turned into a car) driven by a guy in a Sponge Bob costume. Kickin’ myself right now because I can’t find the picture. Not only did we see this gem, but it was followed by a bat mobile replica. Moments like that only happen at the Spring Rod Run. Just custom vehicles, gleaming chrome, and beautiful rides for as far as the eye can see. You have to experience it once in your life and we promise you won’t be disappointed.
